We’re nearing the end of October, so it’s time to share our team’s list of the best things we ate this month. From a savory salmon bowl to a hearty breakfast burrito, we tried a little bit of everything in the Rocket City.

Check out the best things we ate this October in and around Huntsville:

Southwest Salmon Bowl from The Standard Social Market

“The best thing I ate in Huntsville this month was the Southwest Salmon Bowl from the Standard Social Market in Downtown Huntsville. Made with fresh corn and black bean salsa, guacamole, poblano dressing and rice, the salmon was flaky and cooked to perfection. I talked about this meal for days and would recommend it to anyone who loves power bowls, salmon and/or superfoods.”

Traditional Fresh English Fish + Chips from The Poppy + Parliament

“I have never been to the poppy until then and I was pleasantly surprised at the service and food. I also learned they have an upstairs shop with grass-fed meat that they cut and sell in house. They also have an English pantry will all kinds of items like coffee, jams, candy and sauces.”

Breakfast Burrito from The Standard Social Market

“Everything on the menu at The Standard is fabulous, but this is my favorite. The breakfast burrito with chorizo, scrambled eggs and pepper jack cheese. Delicious.”

Graze Bowl from Hound + Harvest

The blend of color and flavor definitely makes for one of the best things we ate this month. (Lacey Spear / Hville Blast)

“I’m a huge fan of pickled vegetables, so the pickled onions and butternut squash on the Graze Bowl were the perfect tangy addition to the hearty steak and grains.”
