Former Bob Jones High School baseball star Braden Booth has used his stardom to give back to the Madison community. The Mississippi State signee will use the $1,000 gift from his Gatorade High School Player of the Year honor to help the Miracle League of Madison.

Booth, who was named the Gatorade High School Player of the year — the first baseball player from Bob Jones to receive the honor — received with that award $1,000 to donate to the charity of his choice.

Booth made sure his gift stayed in the local community by donating toward the Miracle League of Madison’s mission — to build an all inclusive field and complex at Palmer Park in order to provide opportunities for children with disabilities to play baseball.

“It means everything to me to be put in this position to give back to the community, and I believe anybody, no matter their life circumstances, should be able to play the game.”

Miracle League of Madison

In November 2022, the Miracle League of Madison became one of the newest members of The Miracle League. Since then, the citizen-led committee has been working behind the scenes to construct renderings, formulate cost estimates and other project planning essentials.

The committee, along with fiscal sponsor Madison Visionary Partners, intend to remove barriers keeping children with mental and physical disabilities off the baseball field.

The field and park complex build-out will be led by Madison Parks and Recreation after funding has been secured. The estimated cost for the project tallies up to $1 million.

To donate or learn more about the program, visit the Madison Visionary Partners website.
