At least one media outlet has said IKEA plans to open a full-sized store in Huntsville at the shopping center, but the space leased by IKEA is just a little more than 46,000 square feet. Full-sized IKEA stores are usually between 275,000 and 350,000 square feet.

A representative at Colliers confirmed that the Huntsville store will be a scaled-down version of the typical IKEA stores.

This Huntsville location, at 6125 University Dr NW, Huntsville, AL 35806, will include:

  • 5,000 products in fully furnished room settings, including a selection of over 2,000 items available for take-home
  • Other products available for purchase online, with free pickup at the Huntsville location
  • An “As-Is Department,” offering gently used products, discontinued items, and a range of affordable furnishings
  • A central planning area where customers can meet one-on-on with IKEA planners
  • On-site restaurant (meatballs!”)

This is the first IKEA store in Alabama but Birmingham does have an IKEA pick-up location at 280 Oxmoor Ct Suite C, Birmingham, AL 35209.

“The opening of IKEA Huntsville highlights our commitment to bring IKEA closer to the many people and make it easier and more affordable to access our home furnishing products and solutions.”

Javier Quiñones, CEO & chief sustainability officer, IKEA U.S.

The Huntsville store will open by spring of 2026.
