Reading time: 2 minutes

The Bojangles Foundation is the philanthropy wing of the fried chicken chain that helps the corporation give back to the communities that it services.
Three local nonprofit organizations dedicated to supporting literacy were recipients of $1,000 grants from the Bojangles Foundation. Two of these nonprofit recipients are based in Huntsville and one is in Trinity.
Check out more about the Bojangles Foundation and their mission below.
About The Bojangles Foundation
The Bojangles Foundation is made up of three pillars of charitable works:
- Veterans + First Responder Appreciation
- Literacy
- Hometown Heroes
The foundation uses these pillars as a framework for giving back to the communities where restaurants are based. The recent literacy grant dispersal was for $1,000 grants for 50 different nonprofits across the Southeast, including organizations in AL, FL, GA and KY.
Five Alabama nonprofits were awarded grants, including LivOn Journey Camp Inc. and PhysioPhit based in Huntsville, and West Morgan High School in Trinity. All of these North Alabama organizations have independent missions for their grants, all promoting literacy.
The other two Alabama recipients were both Tuscaloosa nonprofits: I Dream Big Charter and The Croom Foundation.
Future Grant Dispersal
The Bojangles Foundation has already pledged to repeat their $50,000 literacy program later this year.
Any registered nonprofit organization—with a dedicated mission related to literacy—can apply for a grant. Organizations can apply from Oct 5-Oct 30 this year, at the Bojangles Foundation website, and grant winners will be announced in early December.
