Lunar Eclipse
Lunar eclipses are often known as “blood moons” due to the distinct reddish glow🌕(Alexis Scherer)

If you thought the moon looked a little redder than usual last night—you don’t need to get your eyes checked. That was a total lunar eclipse, which occurs when the Moon moves directly into Earths shadow.

These events are relatively rare (at least when compared to other astronomic phenomenon), with the next one not occuring until December 2028.
