While Huntsville’s suburban areas can sometimes feel empty (I speak from experience), there are several places in Harvest that can be fun hangout options for the local and city community.

Whether you live in Harvest or if you need a break from the busy city scene, these places can be fun for everyone!

1. Harvest Square Nature Preserve

The Harvest Square Nature Preserve is one of the many excellent walking trails part of the Land Trust of North Alabama. Spanning two miles, the trail is encompassed by forestry and offers many different routes for exploration. The trail also occasionally hosts volunteering and hiking events.

Whether you visit for a casual stroll, volunteer to help maintain the trail, or want to find a new outdoor hangout spot, the Harvest Square Nature preserve is one of my favorite places in Harvest!

2. 24/7 Health Club & Wellness Center

The 24/7 Health Club & Wellness Center is one of the best gyms I’ve ever visited and one of the best places in Harvest for people to coordinate exercise groups. It offers several amenities, including exercise classes, a walking and running track, strength and cardio equipment, and even a dry sauna!

Sporting a clean and friendly atmosphere, this gym is a great spot for working out whether you’re a fitness fanatic or a newcomer.

3. KaleidoScoops at Johnny Gryll’s

Could I have included KaleidoScoops at Johnny Gryll’s as one of the best restaurants in Harvest? Of course! However, given its proximity to Sparkman High School, it’s also one of the best hangout spots for the younger Harvest community.

KaleidoScoops has many classic and tasty ice cream flavors that will top off your all-American meal, making it the perfect spot for students to wind down after classes or grab some food for tailgating Friday night high school football games.
