The first weekend of October is here, and the weather is starting feel a little cooler (not quite fall-ish yet) so this is a great weekend to get out and about in the Rocket City.

Check out these cool weekend events here in the Huntsville area:

1. Tennessee Valley Fiddlers Convention

This 3-day event brings in thousands of people from all over the country. There will be more than 16 food trucks and food vendors as well as 140+ craft vendors, in addition to live music and competitions. The Fiddle Champion of Alabama will be crowned prior to the Saturday evening concert.

2. Kami-Con

Kami-Con HAI is a three-day convention that celebrates Japanese culture, gaming, geek culture, anime & manga, comics, TV shows, movies, and much more!

3. Movies in the Park

Movies in the Park, presented by Meta and Buffalo Rock, is back this year at Big Spring Park East. Friday night’s movie will be Jurassic Park.

4. Madison Street Festival

Come to this free community event with live entertainment, performing arts, areas showcasing local businesses, arts and crafts galore, dedicated zones for kids and teens, festival food, sponsor showcases, and fun surprises around every corner!

5. Rocket City Scottish Festival

Celebrate Scottish culture at this awesome event, featuring vendors, food trucks, Highland Games and kilts galore!

6. Pumpkin Days Fall Market

Not only will folks enjoy hay rides, petting zoo, exotic animals and fall festivities, but add in local vendors, face painting and family events.

7. International Festival of North Alabama

Celebrate the food, music, dance, art and culture of dozens of countries — without even having to leave Huntsville — at the annual International Festival.

8. Witchy Wares + Other Fares

We love that the weekend events these days tend to have a Halloween theme. Enjoy an eclectic lineup of vendors and makers, offering everything from enchanting jewelry to mystical art—just in time to kick off the Halloween season.

9. 65 Years of FAME + the Muscle Shoals Sound

Celebrate the legacy of Muscle Shoals with a lineup of unforgettable performers including The War and Treaty, Maggie Rose, Robert Randolph, Bettye LaVette, Scott Sharrard, Peter Levin, John Paul White and more.

10. Todd Rundgren

The legendary Todd Rundgren comes to the Von Braun Center for his Me/We Tour. “The Runt” has been dazzling audiences for decades, so you won’t want to miss this show!

11. Records and Retro

Music lovers and collectors should not miss this. Shop more than 100 booths featuring all kinds of items from some of the nation’s most beloved record shops.

12. Good Music + Arts Festival

Our weekend events include some great festivals, and this one is no exception. This food, music and art celebration is free to attend!
