Who doesn’t love an outdoor concert? Well, this summer, there are several free outdoor concerts you can attend in and around Huntsville.

Here are some we recommend you check out over the next few months:

Concerts in the Park in Huntsville

Huntsville’s Concerts in the Park is a great way to get out in Big Spring Park and hear some fabulous local music. Taking place every Monday night, the concerts feature food trucks and vendors on site and a family-friendly atmosphere.

The series showcases local music talent in a mix of genres from rock, folk, and country to Latin, dance, R&B, and top 40 hits. 

Music begins at 6:30PM. Here’s the lineup:

  • June 3: Unique Live Band/Juice
  • June 10: Maneuver Center of Excellence Band/ Fort Moore
  • June 17: The Collection/ Alex Banks & Co.
  • June 24: 3 Savile Row/Moondust Big Band
  • July 1: The Nerve/ O’Rian
  • July 8: Ricky J. Taylor Combo/ 3 Way Handshake Band
  • July 15: Jimmy Henderson Trio/J-Class Band
  • July 22: Groupo 100F/ Emily Joseph Band
  • July 29: Remy Neal/ Charles & Tanya Harris

Madison Sounds of Summer

Taking place at Home Place Park in Madison, this free summer concert series features some fabulous local musicians in a perfect setting for outdoor music.

Music begins at 7PM, and folks are encouraged to bring chairs and blankets for sitting.

The lineup this summer looks like this:

  • May 30: The Zooks
  • June 13: Groove
  • June 27: Luna Koi
  • July 11: Calypso Vision
  • July 25: Second Hand Smoke

Fridays After Five in Athens

Athens Main Street’s Fridays After Five Music Series is back at the east side of the Limestone County Courthouse, and this year’s series includes an electrifying array of musical talent that will keep audiences coming back month after month.

Admission to the Fridays After Five Music Series is free, with the party starting at 5 p.m. with DJ Zillion warming up the crowd until 6:30PM and the main performance running from 7PM to 8:30PM.

Attendees are encouraged to bring a lawn chair to enjoy the music.

Here’s what’s left on the agenda:

  • May 31: Dance Party Night, featuring Juice
  • June 28: Rock the Square Night, featuring Steel 6
  • July 26: All The Hits Night, featuring The Limestoners

Merchants Alley Happy Hour Music Series

While the Fridays After Five series in monthly, the Merchants Alley Happy Hour Music Series is weekly. Performances take place in the alleyway on Jefferson Street between Terranova’s Athens and the Athens Main Street office from 5:30PM to 7PM.

Each Friday, there will be a new performer – allowing for various musical acts. Here’s who is playing and when:

  • May 31: Maclin & Co. 
  • June 7: Brad Mallette
  • June 14: Jessie Brackin
  • June 21: Nix Side Hustle 
  • June 28: Will Paustian 

Live Music at Stovehouse

Stovehouse has multiple venues and stages to host live music, and they host free concerts every weekend, beginning with the Tuesday Night Concert Series and continuing through Saturday nights. Music starts at 7PM.

Here’s what Stovehouse has in store for the summer so far:

  • May 31: 5ive O’Clock Charlie
  • June 1: Unique Live Band
  • June 6: Cheryl Llewellyn
  • June 7: The Beasley Brothers
