Chick-fil-A on Highway 72 among new high-dollar building permits

A new Chick-fil-A is coming to Highway 72. (Huntsville-Madison County Chamber of Commerce)

Of the 19 new building permits issued statewide for construction projects exceeding $1 million, seven are for projects in the Huntsville area. In fact, the permits add up to more than $55 million in construction costs.

Ground was broken last week on the new Chick-fil-A. (Huntsville-Madison County Chamber of Commerce)

A $3.2 million building permit was issued this past week for a Chick-fil-A restaurant on Highway 72 at Moores Mill. This is adjacent to the new Food City grocery store. Ground was broken on the project September 9.

The restaurant will include 70 seats inside and an additional 16 seats outside. The new location will open in the summer of 2026.

Horizon Construction Co. is listed as the lead contractor.
