This free, eight-week program is designed to empower individuals with the knowledge and skills needed to become more involved in their community.

Through a combination of classroom instruction and interactive activities, participants will gain a comprehensive understanding of civic engagement.

“The Civic Engagement Academy is not just a program; it’s a pathway to creating positive change in our community. We encourage anyone passionate about community involvement to apply and join us in this transformative experience.”

Mayor Tommy Battle

The spring session will begin on March 18 with an orientation, followed by weekly classes every Tuesday from 6-8 p.m. Topics covered throughout the program include:

  • March 18: Orientation/How Our City Operates
  • March 25: Our City Growing
  • April 1: Our City Safe, Secure & Responding
  • April 8: Our City at Work at City Hall
  • April 15: Our City Maintaining
  • April 22: Our City Engaging
