Condado Tacos is Downtown Huntsville’s new + hot eatery

A newcomer to the Huntsville-area culinary scene arrived this week, as Condado Tacos opened officially in its new spot across from Big Spring Park Thursday.

We were able to get a sneak peak of the new taco joint, and came away really impressed:

Condado Tacos

Condado Tacos specializes in “clean and craveable” tacos, margaritas and tequilas in a colorful, energetic atmosphere. The menu is fantastic with a wide array of items to fit varying preferences and diets.

The new taco spot, located at 401 Williams Ave. SW, opened Thursday, and is now the second Condado location to open in Alabama, with the first being in Cahaba Village, Mountain Brook (Birmingham) earlier this year.

The restaurant space comprises 3,850 square feet and seats 155, including 104 in the dining room, 15 at the bar and 36 on an outdoor patio.

In addition to the signature taco suggestions including Lucy’s Fire and Blue Dream (which is what I tried), both made with secret shells, the menu includes innovative ingredients such as Tajin, cilantro-lime aioli, jicama and Condado’s own Kewl Ranch taco shell. There are tacos for everyone, including vegetarian, vegan and gluten free options, starting at just $4.

Condado Tacos opened in 2014 with its first location in the Short North neighborhood near Ohio State University, Columbus, Ohio. Since its founding, this  the award-winning taco joint has grown to 49 restaurants in 16 markets:

Not only is Condado Tacos’ menu delicious, but the atmosphere inside the place is incredible. The mural art inside is all done by local artists, and this art celebrates Huntsville’s contributions to space exploration, along with other locally themed rendering by artists including:
