Damage updates on EF-2 tornado in Huntsville, plus your photos from Tuesday’s severe weather

We saw some destructive severe weather this past Tuesday, and our followers captured sightings and damage throughout the Huntsville metro area.
Here’s the latest, plus your photos of the storm in Huntsville, Madison, Athens and beyond.
Damage update: EF-2 tornado confirmed by NWS
Huntsville Utilities crews repairing power lines today, May 22, in the Monte Sano area (Huntsville Utilities)
One of the three tornadoes has been confirmed an EF-2 by The National Weather Service, traveling from Limestone County into Madison County.
Since then, Huntsville Utilities and local crews have been working around the clock to clear roads and restore power to 18,000 outages.
“Huntsville Utilities is grateful to have the assistance in the restoration efforts. Special thanks to Decatur Utilities and our local contractor, Gridco, for providing electric crews to assist with line work and to the City of Huntsville and Asplundh Tree Service for their diligence in helping to clear the lines and roadways of trees, limbs and debris.”

Yesterday (May 21), Huntsville Utilities reported:
- 1,496 customers without power
- 42 lines down
- 42 tree issues
- 19 poles down
- 5 poles damaged/leaning
As of today (May 22) at 4:30PM, Huntsville Utilities reported:
- 238 customers without power
- 16 lines down
- 0 tree issues
- 14 poles down
- 1 pole damaged/leaning
