Decatur launches new website after 8 months of planning
Reading time: 2 minutes

The City of Decatur just released a new-and-improved website that should make it easier for users to navigate the site, find important services and access official information. Click here to view the new site.
This site comes after 8 months of planning and coordination between various City departments and the City’s website provider, Revize.
““Every category, page, and new feature was built to help people find information faster, complete City business more easily, and better understand the work happening across Decatur.”
Carter Watkins, Communications Manager
The website expands and improves multiple features, including the interactive online forums and InsideDECATUR, which is the city’s official news source. It also introduces a new feature, Decatur Direct, which you can learn more about below👇
What is Decatur Direct?

Decatur Direct is a brand-new public service request system that allows residents to report non-emergencies, giving them a bigger voice than they have ever had before.
Here are some of the things residents can now conveniently report directly to the city:
- Potholes and damaged sidewalks
- Drainage problems
- Tall grass and overgrown property
- Litter and illegal dumping
- Park and playground maintenance needs
- Dirty or damaged public restrooms
- Code enforcement concerns
- Damaged signs and other City service issues
“Decatur Direct gives residents a clear way to tell us what they are seeing and follow what happens next. It also gives our employees a better tool to manage requests, communicate with residents and make sure concerns reach the right people.”
Kent Lawrence, Mayor of Decatur
