The National Weather Service (NWS) published their weather outlook for the month of December yesterday. Here’s everything you need to know about Huntsville’s forecast for the coming month:

Expect above average temperatures

Our monthly outlook predicts temperatures will be above average for the month of December. Average highs for our area in December linger around the mid-50s, while record highs hit the mid-70s and sometimes 80s.

Much of North Alabama remains in an extreme or exceptional drought, however the drought has not worsened in the past week.

Rain chances for December are leaning towards the possibility of above average rainfall. About 1.25 to 1.5 inches of rain per week is normal for this time of year.
