Ah, Easter Sunday . . . Bright green lawns framed in springtime blooms. Hunting hidden eggs and getting grass stains on extra-spiffy clothes and patent-leather shoes. And then there are the baskets of Easter treats.

I treasure every memory of childhood Easter holidays here in Alabama, because my grandmother made them special—especially with her baskets. Each usually included a plush, a chocolate bunny and a sprinkling of smaller treats—some tucked under the plastic grass, extending the thrill of the egg hunt.

Here’s to making this year’s baskets next-level with these picks for extraordinary Easter treats in Huntsville and surrounding towns.

Pizzelle’s Confections

Tucking even one special chocolate from Pizzelle’s Confections into an Easter basket will transform it from basic to beautiful. And if you must pick just one, make it the one that’s an annual tradition—a marshmallow-filled, bold yellow chocolate chick. And don’t fret if they sell out—there are dozens of other options, including sweet, Easter-themed mini cakes.

🐣 Hatch a plan: Pizzelle’s will host an Easter-themed craft day on Sunday, March 29.
