ELECTION RESULTS: Madison + Decatur get new mayors

The municipal elections in Madison, Decatur and Athens are over, and there will be some new faces in local government in each of these cities.
Decatur and Madison each have new mayors, and Athens will have at least two new members of the City Council. Here are the tallies from last night:
Here’s the final tally for Tuesday’s elections



Longtime Madison City Council member Ranae Bartlett is Madison’s new mayor, having won a majority over her two challengers without a run-off.
Decatur also has a new mayor, as local businessman Kent Lawrence defeated three candidates, also without a run-off. Athens re-elected Mayor Ronnie Marks.
Speaking of run-offs, Madison, Athens and Decatur each have run-off elections for City Council seats, set for Sept. 23. Here’s the info:
Madison
- Mayor: Ranae Bartlett
- District 1: Maura Wroblewski
- District 2: David Bier
- District 3: Billie Goodson
- District 4: Michael McKay
- District 5: Alice Lessman
- District 6: Erica White and Scott Harbour will be in a run-off Sept. 23
- District 7: Kenneth Jackson
Athens
- Mayor: Ronnie Marks
- District 1: Chris Seibert
- District 2: Allen Creasy
- District 3: James Lucas and Henry White will be in a run-off Sept. 23
- District 4: Dana Henry
- District 5: Amy Golden
Decatur
- Mayor: Kent Lawrence
- District 1: Terrance Adkins
- District 2: Kyle Pike
- District 3: Carlton McMasters
- District 4: Sarah French and Pam Werstler will be in a run-off Sept. 23
- District 5: Barry Bullard
