Enjoy some live theater here in the Rocket City

There’s nothing better than taking in some live theater — whether it’s on Broadway or in your own community theater group — and we are lucky here in the Rocket City to have multiple organizations that provide stage talent for Huntsville audiences.

Here’s what our local theater groups have coming up:

Broadway Theatre League

Broadway Theatre League recently announced their upcoming season, and it is full of stellar performances coming to Huntsville.

The 2024-25 BTL season includes:

• Tina
• Clue
• Six
• Mamma Mia
• Peter Pan
• Les Miserables

Theatre Huntsville

Theatre Huntsville puts on productions cast with local actors and displays the Rocket City’s immense stage talent. This season has included performances of “The Musical Comedy Murders of 1940,” “Don’t Dress for Dinner” and “The Book of Will,” and will feature upcoming performances of “Little Shop of Horrors” June 14-23.

Also, one of the most unique events put on by Theatre Huntsville is the Racket City Playwright’s Series, which features short plays written by North Alabama writers and performed by local actors.

Fantasy Playhouse Children’s Theater

Fantasy Playhouse Children’s Theater and Academy has been a leader in Arts Education in North Alabama since 1961.

Over the last decade, FPCTA has actively solicited grant, foundation, and private funding to bring theater arts education opportunities to at risk students free of charge.

Fantasy Playhouse has an upcoming performance of “Space Monkeys — The Adventures of Baker & Able,” May 9-12.

Independent Musical Productions

Independent Musical Productions also casts local talent to perform musicals here in Huntsville. Formed in 1993, IMP provides high-quality theater for North Alabama.

Upcoming performances include:

• Jeckyl & Hyde: The Musical
