Blending genres like bluegrass, country, gospel, newgrass and jazz, the Ancient Tones create a unique sound that resonates with fans across a wide spectrum of audiences.
With influences such as JD Crowe, Merle Haggard, Tony Rice, David Grisman, Flatt & Scruggs and Vassar Clements, Ancient Tones are known for their solid harmonies and blazing instrumentals.
Opener: Jack Ellis. Longtime HTMA member Jack Ellis brings his love of American folk music and songs of Appalachia, Irish ballads, and old-time gospel to regional audiences. His selections range from the Carter Family to Woody Guthrie to protest songs from generations past.
