Brandy Clark Returns to the Princess Theatre on May 1

DECATUR, AL — Grammy, CMA, and Americana Award-winning singer-songwriter Brandy Clark will return to the historic Princess Theatre on May 1 for an evening showcasing one of the most respected voices in contemporary Americana and country music.

Widely regarded as one of her generation’s most esteemed songwriters and musicians, Clark most recently performed “Trailblazer (Dream Chaser Version)” at the 68th Annual Grammy Awards alongside Reba McEntire and Lukas Nelson. Her growing list of honors includes Best Americana Performance at the 66th Annual Grammy Awards and Song of the Year at the 2024 Americana Honors & Awards for “Dear Insecurity,” her powerful collaboration with 11-time Grammy winner Brandi Carlile.

That award-winning track appears on Clark’s self-titled album, produced by Carlile and featuring some of Clark’s most personal songwriting to date. The record was released to widespread acclaim, with Forbes calling it “an Americana masterpiece,” Variety declaring it “further clarifies that she’s one of America’s treasures,” and Billboard noting that “Clark continues to convey her inexorable talents as both a song-crafter and vocal interpreter.”

Beyond her work as a solo artist, Clark has written songs that have shaped modern country and Americana, including “A Beautiful Noise,” the Grammy-nominated duet performed by Brandi Carlile and Alicia Keys; Kacey Musgraves’ “Follow Your Arrow”; and Miranda Lambert’s “Mama’s Broken Heart.” She also composed the music for the hit musical comedy Shucked alongside longtime collaborator Shane McAnally. For the production, Clark received Outstanding Music at the 67th Drama Desk Awards and earned a Tony Award nomination for Best Original Score at the 76th Tony Awards, with Shucked receiving nine Tony nominations overall.

Clark continues to tour throughout the spring, including select dates in her “Art of the Storyteller” series — an intimate format that blends music with conversations alongside some of today’s most compelling creative voices. Her May 1 performance at the Princess Theatre promises an unforgettable evening of storytelling, emotional depth, and masterful songwriting.

Presale to The Princess Theatre members will begin February 25. Public tickets will go on sale February 27. Day of show, doors will open at 6:00 p.m. with performance beginning at 7:00 p.m.
