Harmony Sound Five Points Ribbon Cutting and Grand Opening

Hello,

My name is Debbie Eames and I am one of the new owners of Harmony Sound Five Points.  We have scheduled our ribbon cutting and grand opening on Wednesday, October 22, 2025.  Here’s our story…

A New Chapter at Harmony Sound

For over 30 years, Harmony Sound has been more than just a music store—it’s been a gathering place, a community cornerstone, and a heartbeat for musicians and music lovers alike. Nestled in the historic district of Five Points, its location at 820 Wellman Avenue, Huntsville Alabama has echoed with guitar riffs, banjo picking, and the soft buzz of tube amps for the last 22 years.

The store was built on passion and soul by its founder, Bill Graviett, a dedicated musician and an even more devoted community member. Bill didn’t just run Harmony Sound—he lived it. He knew every instrument like an old friend and treated every customer like family. His passing on January 22, 2025, left a silence that was deeply felt by the local music community.

Then came April 25, 2025.

Longtime friends and local music supporters Wayne Eames and Doug Johnson decided to swing by the old store, curious—and worried—about its future. The windows were dusty, the lights dim. But as they leaned in for a closer look, the door unexpectedly creaked open.

Standing there with a smile and a sparkle in his eye was Bob Valentine, Harmony’s ever-loyal music teacher. Without missing a beat, he asked, “Are you my new bosses?”

The question caught them off guard. But what came next was a surprise neither of them expected.

They learned that Harmony Sound was on the brink—facing auction or sale, depending on which came first. The idea of losing such a landmark was unthinkable. And just like that, the seed of a dream began to sprout.

Within 24 hours, Wayne and Doug had set up a meeting with Billy Wayne, Bill Graviett’s son. They weren’t just two passersby anymore. They were two men on a mission—to honor a legacy, preserve a local treasure, and breathe new life into Harmony Sound.

From that moment on, the story of Harmony Sound began a new verse. The melody shifted, but the song plays on.
