Join 3D Printing Experts to learn how to use the lithophanemaker.com website and sphere tool to create an STL for printing.
11:30AM – 12:30PM – Exploring the Features of the Moon
Join lunar observer Frank Schenck to learn about the different features on the Moon – from craters to domes, rilles to ridges – and how to observe them.
This talk is accompanied by some astounding close up images of our moon taken by Frank, an accomplished lunar observer and photographer.
12:30PM – 1:30PM – Using the Virtual Moon Atlas
Bring your lunch and learn as Don Martin explores the online Virtual Moon Atlas – a great way to plan how you’re going to observe all the ‘Lunar 100‘ – or just to be an armchair amateur astronomer on a cloudy night.
1:30PM – 2:30PM – Luna, Humanity’s First Communication Satellite, and challenges for Amateur Radio EME
Before there was Telstar, there was Moonbounce!
Come and learn about the fascinating history of conducting global communications by bouncing radio signals off our natural satellite – the Moon. And then learn about how you can participate in this challenging amateur radio hobby – said by some to be the ‘Everest’ of amateur radio activities.
Speaker Bob Ehresman (KV4PC) operates the moonbounce activities from the Athens State STEAMroller mobile facility.

We’ll work together to create a hands-on scale model of the Earth-Moon system.
We’ll also learn about the ‘Loony’ history of how humans have historically viewed the Moon.
Also, we’ll pass around an actual piece of the Moon!
