Who says Halloween is just for kids? This October, the Huntsville Botanical Garden introduces Spellbound in the Garden, a spine-tingling nighttime experience designed exclusively for adults (21+). As dusk falls, the Garden’s familiar paths transform with theatrical lighting, immersive scenes, and unexpected seasonal moments. From glowing cauldrons and whispering woods to flickering firepits and golden-lit promenades, each vignette reveals the mysterious side of autumn.

Guests can sip a themed cocktail at the Potion Bar, gather around the firepits in the Fareground, or stumble upon a fleeting performance beneath the trees. Whether you’re chasing a touch of enchantment or simply savoring a beautiful fall evening outdoors, Spellbound promises an atmosphere that is somewhat spooky, sometimes eerie, and always captivating.

This event is part of Festifall, our seasonal celebration at the Garden in September and October, proudly sponsored by First Horizon Bank.

Your ticket is valid for entry at any time during Spellbound operating hours on your selected date. Arrive when you like—but be sure to give yourself time to linger, explore, and fully experience the magic of Spellbound.

Does this event cover the entire Garden?
No, Spellbound follows a curated path that winds around select areas of the Garden rather than through them. The experience follows the circular path around the lakes, passing by the Grand Hall Veranda, Pollinator Walk, Anderson Education Center, Wicks Family Garden, Trading Post, Cedar Glade, Lake Lonnie Lawn, and our iconic Floral Promenade. Each section along the route offers its own unique ambiance and seasonal surprises.

Where do I park?
We recommend parking in the Azalea or Dogwood lots. Once you arrive, you’ll check in with your ticket—or purchase one at the door—before stepping into the experience. See our Garden Map here.

Can I bring someone who is under 21?
All guests must be 21 or older. IDs will be checked at the door. This event is designed exclusively for adults to enjoy a curated evening experience in the Garden.

Will food and drinks be available?
Yes! Enjoy seasonal cocktails and refreshments at the Potion Bar, and warm up by the firepits with cozy fall snacks available for purchase.

What should I wear?
This is an outdoor walking experience, so comfortable shoes are recommended. Dress for the weather and for a cozy fall night in the Garden.

Is the event wheelchair accessible?
Most pathways are paved and accessible, though some areas may include uneven terrain, including grass.

Can I purchase tickets at the door?
Yes, but availability may be limited. We encourage guests to purchase tickets in advance to guarantee entry and take advantage of member discounts.
