Steve Earle Brings His Legendary Songwriting and Storytelling to The Princess Theatre on May 25, 2025
DECATUR, AL – The Princess Theatre is thrilled to welcome legendary singer-songwriter Steve Earle for a one-night-only performance on Sunday, May 25, 2025. A night of unforgettable music awaits as this iconic artist takes the stage, bringing decades of storytelling and songcraft to life in an intimate setting.
A GRAMMY® Award-winning artist, Earle has been a defining voice in Americana, folk, and country music for more than four decades. A protégé of songwriting greats Townes Van Zandt and Guy Clark, Earle quickly carved out his own path, with songs recorded by Johnny Cash, Waylon Jennings, Joan Baez, Emmylou Harris, The Pretenders, and countless others. His groundbreaking 1986 album,
Guitar Town, soared to No. 1 on the country charts, solidifying his place in music history.
From anthems like
Copperhead Road—officially named a state song of Tennessee in 2023—to politically charged records like
The Revolution Starts… Now and deeply personal tributes like
Jerry Jeff, Earle’s catalog is as vast as it is revered. His influence extends beyond music; he is a novelist, actor, playwright, producer, and host of SiriusXM’s Hard Core Troubadour. In 2020, he was inducted into the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame, and in 2023, he was honored by the Bruce Springsteen Archives & Center for American Music.
Earle’s latest album, “Alone Again (Live),” released on July 12, 2024, showcases his raw and powerful stage presence.
