Huntsville’s Green Team has put together some fantastic initiatives over the years, but one of the most popular has been the city’s Tree Planting Day, held twice a year.

Huntsville’s Fall Tree Planting Day is set for Nov. 4 at John Hunt Park. Here’s what to know:

Fall Tree Planting Day

The event is set for Saturday, Nov. 4 at John Hunt Park, where Mayor Tommy Battle will be on hand with Green Team leaders, helping to make Huntsville greener by planting trees in the park. This year, hundreds of trees will be planted to expand the tree canopy.

Here are some details:

  • Tree planting will take place from 9AM to 11AM.
  • No experience is needed. All ages are welcome.
  • Seedling trees will be given out to take home to plant.
  • Volunteers will also be provided with free litter clean up supplies, coffee, popcorn and doughnuts.

Participants are asked to park at 2315 Airport Road during the event.
