We are about halfway into April, so now is as good a time as any to look ahead to what’s happening in the Huntsville area in May. The weather is getting warmer, the flowers are blooming and — let’s face it — May is just a great time to get out and about in North Alabama.

1. Les Miserables @ Mark C. Smith Concert Hall

  • What: Cameron Mackintosh presents the acclaimed production of Boublil and Schönberg’s Tony Award-winning musical phenomenon, Les Misérables.

2. A Wrinkle in Time @ VBC Playhouse

  • What: Walk through the vortex of this fantastical adventure traveling through time and space as Fantasy Playhouse presents the popular kids sci-fi novel by Madeleine L’Engle live on stage.

3. Golden Hour @ Botanical Garden

  • What: A weekly social event where you can live music in the open air, sip refreshing drinks and savor flavorful fare from the Fern & Feast Bistro food trailer.

6. Rocket City Trash Pandas @ Toyota Field

  • What: The Trash Pandas have kicked off their 2025 season, and have two long home stands in May.

  • What: Light on Yoga Fitness has partnered with local businesses to provide free classes at all your favorite spots around town.
