We are about halfway into April, so now is as good a time as any to look ahead to what’s happening in the Huntsville area in May. The weather is getting warmer, the flowers are blooming and — let’s face it — May is just a great time to get out and about in North Alabama.

1. Les Miserables @ Mark C. Smith Concert Hall
- What: Cameron Mackintosh presents the acclaimed production of Boublil and Schönberg’s Tony Award-winning musical phenomenon, Les Misérables.

3. Golden Hour @ Botanical Garden

8. Huntsville City FC @ Joe Davis Stadium
- What: The Huntsville City Football Club plays two home games in May. The May 3 game is STar Wars Night and the May 17 game is Kids Night.

10. 2025 Cotton Row Run @ Big Spring Park
- What: For 45 years, the Cotton Row Run has been the premiere Memorial Day running event in the South that honors fallen military members who sacrificed their lives for our freedom. This events includes a 10K, 5K and 1-mile fun run.
