Fifth Third Bank opens first of 3 new branches in Huntsville market

Fifth Third Bank celebrated the opening of its MidCity location Friday, the first of three new branches to open this year in the Huntsville market.

This expansion into Huntsville is part of the bank’s plan to open 15 new Alabama branches in the next three years.

The new branch–the first in Alabama–is located at at 5903 University Dr NW, Huntsville, AL 35806.

Fifth Third’s strategic expansion in the Southeast, now in its eighth year, originally focused on Tennessee, Georgia, the Carolinas and Florida, and now includes Alabama.

The bank opened an office in Birmingham in July of 2024, but the first Alabama branch is here in Huntsville. Ultimately, according to company officials, the bank wants to open as many as 10 branches in the Huntsville area alone.
