Find your competitive spirit with these sports leagues for adults

You are never too old to play sports. In fact, the older we get, the more important it becomes to stay active and take care of your mind and body. And playing sports is a great way to do that.
So if you are and adult looking for sports leagues to join, we have a few suggestions:
Options
Softball/Baseball
Madison and Huntsville each have men’s, women’s and co-ed softball leagues throughout the year. In Huntsville, you can sign up for the Huntsville spring league on the Parks & Recreation website.
Madison has a cool twist on slow pitch softball, with a 5-on-5 format for adults. You can find more info and sign up here.
Also, if you want to dust off the cleats and get out that old baseball glove, the Huntsville Men’s Baseball League plays at Optimist Park and Sandhurst Park. Don’t worry of you think you might be out of shape. This over 40 league’s motto is, “If you can pass our physical, we don’t want you!”
Tennis

The Huntsville Tennis Center has adult tennis leagues year-round, whether you are into singles, doubles or mixed doubles, there are plenty of tournaments to play, and it is a great way to socialize and stay fit and competitive.
Like most of the adult sports leagues in the area, all skill levels are welcome.
Rugby
The Huntsville Rugby Club is one of the state’s oldest rugby leagues, having formed in the 1970s.

Kickball

Remember playing kickball as a kid? Well, now you can play as an adult here in Huntsville. You can sign up as a full team, small group or solo and get placed on a team.

Ultimate Frisbee
The Huntsville Ultimate Club has spring and summer leagues for adults, and even keeps you informed on pick-up games happening in the area. Check out their website to sign up for a team.
Volleyball

The City of Madison hosts a co-ed volleyball league for players ages 18 and up. Choose from two different divisions: a recreational division for casual players and a competitive division for more skilled players. There are spring, summer and fall leagues.

Also, if you are into beach volleyball, Huntsville has leagues that play at John Hunt Park, giving people of all levels the opportunity to compete and enjoy a fun environment.

Pickleball
The Huntsville Pickleball Club not only teaches beginners how to hone their pickleball skills, but also puts together competitions and schedules matches throughout the city.
Also, Madison has fabulous pickleball facilities. League play is offered at both of our pickleball court locations as well as different times of day to maximize those interested in joining. Here’s more info.
