It’s that time of year, Huntsville! Whether you’re going out of town or staying home to watch the fireworks, celebrating the Fourth of July is always a great time.

If you’re interested in celebrating by the water, we’ve put together a short list of North Alabama’s favorite fireworks shows. However, if the listed venues are a bit too far away, be sure to check out our more local guide.

1. Decatur / Wheeler Lake KOA

Compared to the following two venues, Decatur / Wheeler Lake KOA has four days of fun lined up for attendees. With different food trucks almost every day, a water balloon toss and live music, anyone who stops by is sure to have a blast.

2. Lake Guntersville

Lake Guntersville has an exciting lineup prepared this year, including a concert by JED Eye in Civitan Park, food vendors on-site and a great display of fireworks. The fireworks will be most visible from Sunset Drive, Civitan Park and Lurleen B Wallace Drive, so bring your lawn chairs and get ready for a night of fun!

3. Smith Lake Park

Exciting news: the Smith Lake Park Fireworks & Music Festival is free this year! Come by anytime between 9AM and 9PM for fireworks over the water, swimming, miniature golf and more.
