Proposed improvments to the exterior of the rec center (City of Huntsville)

Back on April 2, plans were proposed and approved to upgrade the existing rec center that many huntsvillians have fond memories of. As of this week, those plans have been advanced and the center has entered a contract with Nola | VanPeursem Architects.

Here are the proposed interior upgrades:

New interior finishing
Rearranging building entrance + lobby area
HVAC unit replacement
Adding air conditioning to gym
Pool + pool equipment improvements

Here are the proposed exterior upgrades:

New basketball court
New pickleball courts
Upgraded playground
Expanded parking
Relocated bus stop
Improved walking paths
