This year, Friday the 13th happens twice—in January and October.

For the January occurrence of this superstition-filled day, Huntsville’s got three events where you’re sure to avoid any bad luck that may be hanging around.

1. Friday the 13th Ghost Hunt at the Historic Lowry House

The Southern Ghost Girls Tours & Paranormal Investigations wouldn’t miss the opportunity for a ghost tour on Friday the 13th. You can join them for their investigation of the Historic Lowry House in downtown Huntsville. It’ll be led by Lesley Ann Hyde—TV personality, psychic medium and paranormal investigator.

BONUS: We talked more about the Historic Lowry House in our guide to spooky spots around Huntsville.

2. Horror Workshop at Hammer & Stain

If you’re looking for something a little less intense than searching for ghosts, head over to Bar at 805 across the parking lot from Yellowhammer Brewing. HUNNIVEGA and the Shane Davis Group will be supplying the music, and the bar will be supplying plenty of drinks.

4. Friday the 13th Part 2 at InnerSpace Brewing Company

Nearby, InnerSpace Brewing is hosting their first show of the new year. It’s going to be, “Foot Pound Force: Friday the 13th Part 2.” We’re not sure what part one was like, but we’re always up for an encore.
