Gas prices in Alabama now 40 cents cheaper this month

For the third consecutive week, the average price for a gallon of regular gas in Alabama has fallen. It has now dropped 40 cents in the lst month.
According to AAA, Alabama’s average cost for a gallon of gas on June 16 is:
- Regular: $3.66
- Mid-grade: $4.11
- Premium: $4.52
- Diesel: $4.81
Alabama’s gas prices are well below the national average of $4.04 for a gallon of regular gas. But the price still remains roughly 90 cents higher than it was in June 2025 (and $1.52 higher for diesel).

Alabama gas prices

June has marked the largest drop in gas prices since the rise in the cost of fuel earlier this year. The average price for a gallon of regular gas peaked at $4.17 in May.
Here are the current average prices of regular gas in different metro areas across the state:
- Anniston-Oxford: $3.61
- Auburn-Opelika: $3.58
- Birmingham: $3.70
- Daphne: $3.50
- Decatur: $3.58
- Dothan: $3.66
- Florence-Muscle Shoals: $3.57
- Gadsden: $3.55
- Huntsville: $3.65
- Mobile: $3.54
- Montgomery: $3.69
- Tuscaloosa: $3.61
