Having George Takei as a guest is a pretty awesome announcement for this event, as science fiction fans for sure know exactly who Takei is, after the actor appeared for years as Hikaru Sulu aboard the starship USS Enterprise on the Star Trek television series and the movies that followed.

In 1986, Takei was inducted into the Hollywood Walk of Fame with a star at 6681 Hollywood Boulevard for his work in television.

The Huntsville Comic and Pop Culture Expo is a wildly popular event that regularly sells out. The announcement of Takei as a guest is just the first of several upcoming announcements — including the announcement today of special guest David McCormack, better known for his voice for Bandit Healer from the “Bluey” television series.
