October is great month to be outdoors, and because of that there are some fabulous outdoor music festivals happening here in the Huntsville area.
From a fiddlers festival that is more than five decades old to a newly relocated Huntsville music festival, October is a prime music month.
1. The The 58th Annual Tennessee Valley Old Time Fiddlers Convention

Mark your calendars, music lovers. The 58th Annual Tennessee Valley Old Time Fiddlers Convention is back in Athens, and will include more than 200 musicians.
Hosted by Athens State University, the event regularly attracts between 15,000 and 20,000 people to Athens for the convention.
Why do so many folks descend upon Athens for this event? Well, when you look at the lineup of events, you’ll see exactly why. The music is just one reason to attend.
In addition to the concerts and music competitions, the event includes arts and crafts vendors, a fiddlers trade show, tutorials and more.
