The additional acreage, donated by the Kuehlthau family, includes parts of Green Mountain Trail.

Land Trust officials say this growing corridor will provide important habitat and safe passage for wildlife while protecting the surrounding environment. The land also includes a portion of the Green Mountain Trail with a trailhead and information kiosk for visitors.

“This property is more than just beautiful upland hardwood forest; it creates a vital connection between two existing Land Trust parcels and strengthens our River to Gap vision.”

The River to Gap project is a long-term Land Trust initiative to create a continuous conservation corridor stretching from the banks of the Tennessee River to the ridgeline of Blevins Gap on Green Mountain.

By connecting protected lands across this landscape, the project safeguards critical habitats and water resources, provides safe passage for wildlife and preserves scenic trails and natural spaces for people to enjoy.
