Former Grissom + Tennessee star to join Vols football broadcast team

Jayson Swain, a former Grissom High School and University of Tennessee football standout, has been named an analyst for the Vol Network ahead of the 2026 football season.

The former wide receiver was a high school All-American at Grissom and went on to star for the Tennessee Volunteers, finishing his college career in the top 10 among all-time receptions leaders in school history.

Jayson Swain joins Tennessee Vol Network

Swain will join the “Voice of the Vols,” Mike Keith, sideline reporter Brent Hubbs and game day host Larry Stone during the 2026 season.

Swain said this appointment to the broadcast team furthers his love for the Vol football program.

“I think back to the moment that I decided to be a Tennessee Volunteer. It was the second week of December 2002. They tell you it’s a 40-year decision and not a four-year decision, and they did not lie. That decision changed my life forever for the good. There’s nothing I love more than my family and the University of Tennessee.”

A 2006 team captain, Swain starred for Tennessee from 2003-06 and was a member of the Vols’ 2004 SEC Eastern Division title team. He caught 126 passes for 1,721 yards and 10 touchdowns.

He signed with the Chicago Bears following his UT career and still ranks eighth all-time in school career receptions.

While at Grissom, Swain compiled one of the greatest careers for a wide receiver in Alabama high school history, finishing his career with 285 receptions for 3,510 yards.

He was inducted into the Huntsville-Madison County Athletic Hall of Fame in 2025.
