Guide to 5 of Huntsville’s best outdoor events for September

Let’s get ready for the last month of summer. All September long, you can enjoy these five outdoor events in Huntsville. Keep reading for all the details.

1. Catch a Trash Pandas game

September marks the end of the season for the Rocket City Trash Pandas. The Trash Pandas play at Toyota Field in Madison for most fo their games in September. However, their away games are just down the road. You can head to Birmingham to see the Trash Pandas take on the Barons September 7-12. Snag your tickets now.

2. Head to Flint River for Yoga by the River

For the month of September, Operation Green Team is hosting a weekly outdoor yoga class at Hays Nature Preserve. The hour-long class starts at 8AM and is free. All you need to get your zen on is water, a mat and a towel. Check out the trails at Hays Nature Preserve after for some added outdoor adventure.

3. Grab friends and family for Monday Movies at Stovehouse

At Stovehouse you can enjoy drinks, dinner and dessert. Through September, you can also catch a movie on the lawn at sundown. Make sure you’re in your lawn chair by 7PM on Monday nights. This is a free activity every one can enjoy. Stovehouse announces the film selection weekly.

4. Have a little Fun in the Sun, warm up your volleyball spikes

You don’t have to be a volleyball pro to work on your serve. Fun in the Sun is a free, open-invite to meet up at John Hunt Park for some evening volleyball. Every Monday and Thursday in September you can bring a volleyball, outdoor games, drinks, food and even your pets. This event is from 6:30-10:30PM, however, you can come late or leave early!

5. Take an evening stroll at Night Blooms

All September you can walk through the Huntsville Botanical Gardens at night. Night Blooms is a one-mile walking tour of the Gardens. Lights make the walk magical, this is a great idea for date night or a night out with the kids. Night Blooms is held Wednesday-Sunday. Get tickets. You can even bring your four-legged friends Wednesday nights!
