There are 7 new murals spread throughout Big Spring Park commemorating the North Alabama astronaut and first African American woman in space, Mae Jemison.

Look for the electrical boxes

The murals, created by Huntsville artist Jessie Andrews, are painted on electrical boxes throughout Big Spring Park and are part of a new segment of the Downtown Huntsville Secret Art Trail.

The colorful murals feature unique artwork and quotes by Mae Jemison and other significant astronauts.

If you’ve got a sharp eye you should be able to spot all the murals while walking around the lake, but if you need a little assistance there’s a map available here!
