Have you visited University Pickers? Here are 3 reasons why you should
Reading time: 4 minutes
Huntsville has so many delightful antique and vintage shops, it can be difficult to decide on just one to visit.
However, I’m here to tell you that University Pickers stands out among the rest. This antiques mall not only has over 100 vendors, but it also provides a unique shopping experience.
If you’re looking for a new favorite place to browse, especially as you shop for gifts this holiday season, University Pickers is a solid choice for the following reasons:
Table of Contents
Community events
University Pickers not only provides a fun antiquing experience, but it also hosts community events throughout the year.
Some of its upcoming events include a sourdough making class and the Rocket City Holly Jolly Market this Saturday, as well as a Golden Girls themed Girls Night Out event on November 21st.
Pickers hosts Sourdough 101 classes and other themed Girls Night Out events every month, so be sure to add one that fits into your schedule if you’re interested.
In-house coffee shop
In the antique mall, you can also find Kape Tayo, an in-house Filipino coffee shop that is probably different from the coffee you’re used to getting around Huntsville.
The shop is best known for their Iced Ube Kape, which is a purple espresso beverage. The shop also sells Thai and Vietnamese coffees as well as other “munchables” for anyone who enjoys a tasty sweet treat while browsing.
Kape Tayo has become one of my family’s favorite coffee spots in Huntsville, and we often go to Pickers just to get a sweet treat from this shop.
Vendors galore
What really makes Pickers stand out among the rest in Huntsville is its wide selection of items from high quality local vendors.
Every designated area brings visual flavor to the mall and offers unique items that can liven up any room or become a valued addition to trinket collections.
Not only does Pickers carry furniture, but you can also find locally-made clothing and accessories, as well as carefully crafted trinkets.
For those who are looking for more personal gifts during Christmas shopping, you’re likely to find something special for your loved ones among the consistent and/or the seasonal vendors.
My personal favorites come from the vendors that specialize in sharing Huntsville’s history. I often find myself looking through old Huntsville historical reviews and local artwork.
Huntsville, as we all know, is a uniquely special city, and I just adore how much Pickers carries artifacts that highlight how much this reality has persisted throughout time.
So, the next time you’re driving through the city and want to explore somewhere new, I highly recommend University Pickers for its quality ties to the local community.
