Health Score Honor Roll—who made the grade in April

This month, the Madison County Health Department conducted inspections at more than 200 restaurants in the county. As a public service, Hville Blast looks through monthly Madison County Health Department restaurant scores, featuring those eateries with health scores of 95 or better on their inspection (we excluded private eateries like school or business cafeterias and private clubs).

Here is who had health scores of 95 or above in March of 2023:

Thirsty Turtle – 100

After a seven-month hiatus, the Thirsty Turtle — a popular dive bar that served its loyal customer base for more than 20 years — is back, and begins its new era with a perfect health score. If you didn’t know already, the Turtle is located at 4800 Whitesburg Dr, Huntsville, AL 35802.

Eggs Up Grill – 99

Eggs Up Grill is located in Madison Commons Shopping Center, and opened last summer. Since then, the popular breakfast spot has been serving up delicious waffles, pancakes, omelets and more!

Charlie Foster’s – 96

Another addition to our Health Score Honor Roll is Charlie Foster’s, located at The Stovehouse at 3414 Governor’s Drive. Known for its delicious sandwiches and amazing coffee and hot chocolate drinks, this place is a must at lunch time.
