Huntsville, we have extremely cold weather approaching. While we may all be dreaming of a White Christmas, there are serious dangers that come with this weather. Read on to learn about where there are warming centers in town and how to get a ride to one.

Watch out for the dangerously cold weather

From Friday, December 23 to Tuesday, December 27, we’re expected to have dangerously cold weather, according to the National Weather Service. There will be lows of single digits and teens. Also, there’s a 30% chance of snow on Friday, December 23 with a high near 18 degrees.

Looking for a safe space to escape the cold? Here are warming centers in Huntsville:

If you need a ride to one of these warming centers, Huntsville is offering a helping hand. According to Fox 54, Huntsville Police Department (HPD) will drive people to warming centers. Call HPD’s non-emergency phone number, 256-722-7100, to request a ride. Also, Huntsville Transit will provide rides to these warming centers. Rides will be available on Thursday-Friday, December 22-23 from 6AM-9PM and Saturday, December 24 from 7AM-3PM.
