New Market’s Hubert Family Farms featured in Southern Living
Reading time: 3 minutes
If you’ve ever had the pleasure of strolling down the rows at Hubert Family Farms, you know that they are deserving of a big-name feature.
Southern Living just featured Hubert Family Farms, and we couldn’t be more proud of the little New Market spot.
The feature includes the Hubert family’s story
Southern Living’s article, entitled, “A Couple Transforms A Family Farm To Bring Picturesque Tulips To Alabama,” showcases the Hubert family’s journey to where they’re at today.
Seth Hubert has deep roots in farming—the Hubert family has been farming in North Alabama for generations. He always wanted to be a farmer himself, and that dream came true when he and his wife, Kaylee, started restoring the family farm in 2016.
The Huberts knew they wanted to do something unique with the farm. They weren’t sure exactly what that was until their little girl, Addie, was picking flowers in the front yard one day.
As Seth watched his little girl, he suddenly knew what to do with the farm.
It was going to be tulips.
It’s almost tulip season at Hubert Family Farms
Since that day when inspiration struck, the Hubert family has learned a lot about tulips and turned their farm into an oasis for North Alabamians.
The Southern Living article featured five different kinds of tulips that you can find at the farm, including Hella Lights, Dream Touch, Split, Gavota and Dee Jay Parrot. Tulips are my personal favorite flowers, so I’d be excited to pick any of them!
Speaking of picking tulips, it’s almost that time of year. Tulip season is in a month, and only lasts for a few short weeks. Make sure you’re prepared by learning more about the Hubert Family Farms you-pick system, buying tulip tickets and browsing their online shop, where you can get a tulip subscription, merch and tulip bulbs.
If you’re looking to visit the farm this year, here’s where you can find them.
