Huntsville airport parking deck project among new high-dollar building permits

This past week, 22 new building permits were issued statewide for construction projects exceeding $1 million. These included four projects in Auburn, 12 projects in the Birmingham metro and four in the Huntsville area.

One of those permits in Huntsville is for more work at the Huntsville International Airpoirt.

According to developer Robins & Morton, a $4.9 million building permit was issued last week for prep work before construction on the airport’s new parking deck.

Some details:

  • The deck will include between 1,300 and 1,400 spaces. 
  • It will located adjacent to the current parking deck.
  • The Airport Board approved the option to issue bonds to pay for a new parking deck.
