Huntsville Animal Services wraps up ‘Clear the Shelters Month’ with adoption event on 8/30

If you have been looking for a faithful four-legged family member, the time couldn’t be better to find one here in the Rocket City. Huntsville’s “Clear the Shelters Month” comes to a close this weekend, but not before the city hosts an adoption event Saturday.
Here’s what to know:
Huntsville Animal Services hosts adoption event

Huntsville Animal Services is wrapping up a successful National Clear the Shelters Month with a special Adopt-On-The-Spot event this Saturday at Petsense. Animal Services staff will be present to assist with the adoption process and to answer any questions.
“This is the perfect time to come meet your new best friend and open your heart and home to an animal in need. Whether you’re ready to adopt a dog or cat, can provide a short-term foster home or want to volunteer your time, we need your help to clear the shelter.”

Now in its 10th year, the nationwide “Clear the Shelters” initiative is designed to encourage pet adoption, fostering and support for shelters. Since its inception, the effort has helped more than 1 million pets find their forever home.
