Huntsville City Schools opened its much-awaited central office facility and the Huntsville Center for Technology just in time for the new school year.

The dual facilities are located at 2603 North Memorial Parkway, and have been under construction for the past three years.

The district’s new central office and the Huntsville Center for Technology have been the central figures in the systems’s $600 million capital plan.

Located at the corner of North Memorial Parkway and Max Luther Drive, the 14-acre site was transferred to the school district by the City of Huntsville. 

Here are some tidbits about the new facilities:

  • The new central office spans 40,000 square feet.
  • Approximately 150 staff members will work in the central office building.
  • The central office will include a dedicated board meeting room and modern administrative space to support district operations and leadership.
  • The 81,000-square-foot Huntsville Center for Technology will become the new hub for the district’s Career Technical Education (CTE) programs.
  • The center has capacity for approximately 600 students.
  • New programs launching at the tech center include automotive technology and industrial technology.
  • Existing CTE programs that will relocate to the new facility include:
    • Building science
    • Cosmetology
    • Culinary arts
    • Advanced manufacturing design
    • Advanced health science
    • Greenpower, precision machining (CNC)
    • Welding
