Road work update: Huntsville council approves Phase 4 of resurfacing plan

Huntsville’s roads, and the condition of those roads, is always a hot topic among Rocket City residents. Last week, the Huntsville City Council continued to address this issue with the approval of the fourth phase of its road resurfacing plan.

Here’s what to know:

What’s involved in the resurfacing plan

The City of Huntsville approved three contracts for roadwork projects in the fourth phase of the 2025 fiscal year resurfacing budget. The city included 50 residential streets in the fourth phase, rounding out a resurfacing plan that totals more than $20 million.

Grayson Carter & Sons Contracting LLC was awarded the bid for asphalt and construction projects. Rogers Group will resurface residential streets while Lambert Contracting LLC is charged with concrete and ADA upgrades.
