Huntsville International Airport set for new concourse upgrades
The Huntsville International Airport will soon receive some much-anticipated improvements. The $13 million upgrades to the airport’s concourse includes an additional escalator and more improvements that meet the Americans with Disabilities Act standards.
Most of the project is covered by a $10 million infrastructure grant and the remaining $3 million will come from the airport’s annual bill funds.
Here’s what’s coming to HSV
The upgrades at HSV include:
- An additional elevator
- Another set of escalators
- A ramp from the first floor to the second floor
- Family restrooms
- Lactation rooms
- Service animal relief area
“Our goal at HSV is to offer the best travel experience possible for our passengers. The upgrades to the terminal that we are able to provide with the BIL grant funds will ensure that our customers can enjoy the convenience and increased accessibility that the additional escalators and elevators will add to the concourse for many years.”

Construction begins in November
According to a news release fro HSV, construction on these new upgrades will begin in November and is expected to take about a year to complete.
