As everyone knows, Huntsville is growing constantly. Although the publication no longer has Huntsville ranked among the top places to live, U.S. News & World Report does list the Rocket City among the most sought-after cities.
The report considers numerous factors, and Huntsville has been featured on several lists, with the city even gaining a spot on a new one.
America’s most sought-after cities

U.S. News & World Report looked at migration trends based on internet searches and interest in specific cities and states to compile a list of the most sought-after cities in the country.
The report shows that migration towards southern states is trending upward due to warmer climates, lower cost of living, growing job markets, affordable housing, relaxed lifestyle and lower population densities in southern states.
The U.S. News & World Report list has these cities as the 10 most sought-after cities:
- Bluffton, South Caroline
- Portland, Maine
- Myrtle Beach, South Caroline
- Lansing, Michigan
- Meridian, Idaho
- Huntsville, Alabama
- Clermont, Florida
- Greenville, South Carolina
- Winston-Salem, North Carolina
- The Villages, Florida
