According to the city, plans call for the 536.68 acres to be rezoned as Residence 1 and Residence 2 Districts. Private developers will come in and build single-family homes west of U.S. 72 and north and south of Little Cove Road.

With that being said, Huntsville also stated that “much of the land will also be preserved in its current state.”

On the completely different side of Huntsville, 291.3 acres of land near the airport has been rezoned as Commercial Industrial Park District, which opens the doors for retail or commercial warehouses to set up there.
