Huntsville Utilities crews brave cold to restore power in Nashville

Following January’s severe winter storm, over 200,000 Nashville Electric Service customers found themselves without power. As soon as the roads cleared, Huntsville Utilities put boots on the ground in Tennessee to help in restoring power.

Since January 30, the crews of Nashville Electric Service and Huntsville Utilities have worked in tandem to bring the number of residents without power down to 4,300 from the original 230,000. Overall, their efforts have been helping over 7,000 homes per day regain power.

- Jan 29: 86,000 homes
- Jan 31: 52,000 homes
- Feb 1: 41,000 homes
- Feb 2: 26,000 homes
- Feb 3: 19,000 homes
- Feb 4: 9,800 homes
- Feb 5: 4,300 homes
Also worth mentioning: Recently, the National Guard has been on the scene. On February 4, they assisted our crews by bringing them a new transformer for replacement.
The crews have been battling sub-freezing weather, including temperatures as low as 22° today, so lets keep them in our thoughts as they continue to aid our neighbors to the north!
