Huntsville’s unique recovery resource event set for this weekend
The City of Huntsville is teaming up with Recovery Organization of Support Specialists Madison County to host a recovery resource event this Saturday to help our community access much-needed resources to combat drug abuse.
The event — Breaking Down Barriers — provides attendees with access to no-cost Alabama substance use assessments. Here’s more:
About the recovery resource event
Breaking Down Barriers will provide free food, resources, Naloxone, medical screenings, showers, clothes, haircuts and more. During the event, attendees will have access to no-cost Alabama substance use assessments.

Huntsville Transit will also provide complimentary Orbit bus service to Breaking Down Barriers attendees.

Held during National Recovery Month, the event aligns with the mission of the City’s Community Development Office, which is to strengthen all aspects of our community through affordable housing initiatives, public service and education programs.
